about

Cindy Lawson is releasing a holiday two-song EP that brings to mind not only visions of sugarplums dancing in your head but exuberant rocking around that 'ol Christmas tree.
Both of these songs would be a welcome addition to your holiday song library with the original song "Hey Santa" and a cover of The Orchids' 1964 hit "Mr. Scrooge". Channeling her inner Darlene Love, Cindy and band bring a modern take to the traditional 60's pop reworking of holiday songs in "Hey Santa" and pleads with dear old Saint Nick to bring some love and peace to the world, while "Mr. Scrooge" is a sweet and saucy message to a lover who's stingy with their kisses.

lyrics

It’s Christmas Eve at the North Pole
Santa’s loaded up his sleigh and he’s ready to go
But we don’t need toys, dolls or Iphone accessories
(That’s junk that ends up in a landfill)
I beg you Santa please

Hey Santa, I know you're trying
But hey Santa, the polar bears are dying
Cause nobody’s free until everybody’s free
And a woman can decide her own destiny

We are an island of misfit toys
We may be broken but we’ll make a lot of noise
We don’t need no material things
Like a brand new television or a bunch of diamond rings

Hey Santa hear my plea
Dear Santa won't you do it for me
Hey Santa bring us some peace right now

Hey Santa, the planet’s warming
The scientists say that it’s pretty darn alarming
Children calling out across our many nations
For healthy food to eat and decent education

Hey Santa hear my plea
Hey Santa won't you do it for me
Hey Santa bring us some peace right now

Hey Santa, here’s a solution
How about a gift box of income redistribution
Those out of luck and all those downtrodden
Let them know that they’re not forgotten

Hey Santa hear my plea
Hey Santa won't you do it for me
Hey Santa bring us some peace right now
